Enpira Privacy Policy

Last Updated: May 11, 2026

Enpira Inc. values the privacy of its users and their data. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the steps we take to keep it safe. It applies to visitors of our website, users of our application, and the individuals whose data our clients share with us.

1. Who We Are and What We Do

Enpira is a business-to-business (B2) utility data services platform. Our clients include facility portfolios, utility providers, and energy efficiency program operators. They use our platform to:

  • Improve the energy efficiency of buildings, homes, and infrastructure
  • Reduce energy and water waste
  • Save money on energy procurement
  • Enhance electric grid performance
  • Advance community, environmental, and operational sustainability
  • Better serve their own customers, constituents, and members

We collect and process data to help our clients achieve these goals.

2. What Data We Collect

From our website visitors

Visitors to enpira.io who are not logged in may have standard technical data collected, including IP address, browser type, and pages visited, via server logs and cookies. Cookies can be disabled in your browser settings at any time.

From our application users

Enpira holds basic account information about the employees and contractors of our clients who are authorized to use the application. This data includes:

  • Name and professional email address
  • Job title and organization
  • Login credentials (passwords are stored in hashed, non-reversible form)
  • Application usage and session data

From our clients about utility customers and program participants

Enpira receives energy-related data from its clients (utilities and program operators). Depending on the client and the services provided, this data may include:

  • Name and service address
  • Utility account number
  • Energy usage history (electricity, gas, or water consumption data)
  • Utility billing information
  • Program participation status or enrollment details

This data is provided to Enpira by the utility or program operator, not collected directly from individuals. If you are a utility customer or program participant, your data entered our platform because your service provider or their contractor chose to use Enpira as part of their operations.

What we do NOT collect

Enpira does not collect or store sensitive personally identifiable information (SPII), that is information that if compromised and disclosed without authorization could result in substantial harm to an individual. This means we never obtain:

  • Credit card or bank account numbers
  • Social Security or driver’s license numbers
  • Medical or financial records
  • Biometric data
  • Criminal history

3. How We Use Your Data

Application user data

Account and usage data for application users is used to:

  • Create, manage, and secure user accounts
  • Authenticate identity and enforce access controls
  • Provide customer support
  • Monitor application performance and investigate security incidents
  • Communicate service updates and policy changes

Utility customers and program participants

Data provided to us by our clients is used solely to deliver the analytics and reporting services those clients have contracted for. Specifically, we use it to:

  • Analyze energy usage patterns and identify efficiency opportunities
  • Generate reports and insights for the client’s operational and program needs
  • Support the client’s customer engagement and outreach activities

We do not use this data for advertising, marketing to individuals, or any purpose outside the scope of our client agreements. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with any party not involved in delivering contracted services.

We may produce de-identified or aggregated derivatives of data (e.g. through anonymization or differential privacy technique) for research, benchmarking, reporting, or educational purposes, where permitted by our clients. These de-identified derivatives are designed so no individual’s private information can be inferred from them, and are therefore not considered personal information. We do not sell de-identified derivatives either.

4. When We Share Your Data

Enpira does not sell, rent, or lease any data it holds. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With the client that provided the data, as part of delivering our services to them
  • When requested or authorized by a client
  • With subprocessors (such as cloud infrastructure or security audit providers) who are bound by confidentiality agreements and data processing terms with Enpira
  • As required by law or legal process
  • With trusted service providers (such as auditors or security consultants) bound by confidentiality agreements with Enpira and/or our clients

5. How We Protect Your Data

We take the security of your data seriously and apply a layered approach to protection:

  • Encryption in transit and at rest wherever possible
  • Physical and logical access controls on all servers and storage
  • Regular security reviews and assessments

While we take every reasonable precaution, no data system is completely immune to risk. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to transparency and to notify clients if a breach of personal information occurs.

6. International Data Transfers

Enpira operates in the United States. Data provided to us is stored and processed in the US. If your utility or program provider operates in a jurisdiction with data transfer restrictions (such as the European Union), they are responsible for ensuring that the appropriate legal transfer mechanisms are in place as part of their agreement with Enpira.

We apply the same privacy and security standards to all data regardless of the country of origin.

7. Your Agreement to This Policy

By using Enpira’s website or services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services or notify us.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review it periodically. The most current version always governs.
